Afidance was born from movement, memory, and the symbolic shapes that guide us through dance and through life. These forms hold real power, and that power inspired the name AFIDANCE — a fusion of purpose, culture, and identity.
Spoken aloud, the word carries an African resonance, a rhythm that connects to both African and Jamaican roots. Afidance stands at the centre of these worlds: culture, spirit, and the language of movement.
My dance journey began when I was just four years old. As my grandfather's coffin was lowered into the earth, I climbed on top and danced — a moment of pure instinct and emotion. That early expression of spirit became the foundation of everything I've created since.
